This weekend's boudoir shoots were exactly what I needed after a crazy week. Early in the week I finally found the perfect little office for me so the rest of the week was all about planning the move in. There'll be more about that very soon, I can't wait to be able to open my doors to you lovely lot!
After a lot of running around three more boudoir shoots were just what the doctor ordered. It was a great opportunity to build up my portfolio, so I'm now very nearly ready to launch it properly. It gave me time away from home to think about how I can present this idea. I think that a lot of the time boudoir is seen in a certain way that doesn't really inspire me. I'm getting there with how I want to make it work and that's so exciting.

Creative Boudoir Photography | Preview
Yesterday blew my mind a little bit. Laura Babb, Ellie Gillard and I decided to share the incredible One Friendly Place and have a go at some creative boudoir. We all have totally different styles so it was really interesting looking at all the different spots we were drawn to and it's so exciting seeing their shots from the day too and appreciating how their way of shooting is different to my own. With Sabrina Lily on board for hair and make up and five women with their own styles, insecurities and beauty to be photographed it was incredible to be part of. I've been working towards adding boudoir into my business properly and this was exactly the next step that I needed. There are more images to come but for now here is a preview of Becky, Ruby, Sarah, Erica and Sara.

Boudoir Photography in Derbyshire | Kate
I've always felt a bit hesitant about providing boudoir photography. I tried a couple of things before that didn't really work for me so for Kate's shoot I really thought beforehand what I would want my take on boudoir to look like. I knew I wanted natural light in abundance… I wanted to keep things soft and subtle. I wanted to make something a bit dreamy and nostalgic, but I wanted to keep it real at the same time… no airbrushing or retouching. I am mega-chuffed with how this shoot came out and I'm another step closer to feeling ready to add this into my business officially. The next step being more lovely shoots like this, please!
That's all for now… Have an excellent day, gang! I managed to totally blast my way through Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (I love you, Netflix) over the weekend… what to marathon next?
